2018-12-13 RICOH 推出 42V Input 500mA Power Management IC with Voltage Detectors for in-Vehicle Electrical Equipmentr
Ricoh launched R5116 and R5117 series, high voltage regulators including two voltage detectors in a single chip, suitable for in-vehicle electrical equipment.
As more and more applications in automotive are being asked to meet the functional safety requirements, as in ADAS and autonomous driving system, power management ICs are also being asked to help those systems to meet the safety requirements.
The R5116 series includes two window voltage detectors monitoring the output voltage, which contributes to the highly accurate detection of over-voltage and under-voltage. The R5117 series includes two voltage detectors: one monitors the input voltage, and the other the output voltage. When detecting the input voltage drop, the detectors output a signal to the connected device quickly. Thus, the device can backup data properly and is protected from malfunction.
The R5116/ R5117 contribute to decreasing external components and the mounting area, thanks to their structure of one voltage regulator and two voltage detectors included in a single chip.
The HSOP-8E or HQFN0808-28 (under development) are prepared for the product packages. The HQFN0808-28 will be more efficient in heat dissipation. Select the better one that is suitable for your applications.
Four quality classes are offered for the new products: Class K and A for automotive; Class Y for industrial; Consumer. Choose the best quality class for your products.
Internal Window Voltage Detector
The R5116 includes window voltage detector which monitor the SENSE voltage. While a single voltage regulator requires components such as two voltage detectors, a resistor, capacitors, etc., the R5116 contributes to decreasing those components and the mounting area.
Internal Voltage Detector for Input Voltage and SENSE Voltage
The R5117 series includes two voltage detectors monitoring not only the SENSE voltage but also the input voltage. The detectors detect +B voltage drop caused by cranking etc. immediately, which enables the connected device to backup data and conduct failure prevention. The R5117 series also contributes to decreasing external components in the same way as the R5116 series does.
